Hi all.

Having just bought my first Honda (car), an 07 accord cdti saloon, I need a few buts for it. I went to my local dealer in Kingston, to get some prices, and nearly fell over.

Key - £217
75k service - £402
A-spec lowering kit - £659
Mats - £69
Labour rate of £95ph.

I guess this is how it is with main dealers, certainly down my way, but I dont really want anything except genuine Honda on the car. I have had bad experiences in the (distant) past with a golf, bitterly regretting buying pattern parts, or non-*** mods. On the other hand, I am a paramedic, and while my job is fulfilling and amazing, it doesn't pay very well )

Anyone got any advice?
Many thanks to all who take the time to read and/or reply; your advice is appreciated.
Kindest regards, David

Try the forum affiliate Holdcroft Honda, they do free delivery and I believe A-spec shocks a tad cheaper.
The service parts are not expensive, so you can diy service easily(diy's on here) and we got a supplier of 25lt oil at a very good price.

can't help with mats or key as they have to be encoded.

oh just to add a genuine fuel filter is a MUST, aswell as a quality 0-30 full synthetic oil.

dont know about the other stuff but blade honda in cheltenham charged me £130 for a key and £20 to program it. you can get mats and lowering kits of fleabay cheaper.

Thanks Salim.
Thankyou for your very propmt and helpful response.
All parts will be genuine Honda, and I had read the topic about the oil and the fuel filter.
I have found HH online now - do I ask to speak to someone in particular? Or do I mention the website?
Kindest regards, David.

Just mention your from the forum, they'll look after you. I got them to order a splitter in from belgium was delivered to me in 2days!

75k miles is a bigger service - mine had disks & tyres on top so came to about £800 in total for the previous (company) owner. I've now booked it in for its 87k (the next one) which is just £140 at a main dealer. Whilst £400 is a lot of money it doesn't seem worse than any other manufacturer for the basic service items, the key is whether other stuff also needs doing which is where any additional expense can really come in, and Honda's should need less extra doing. I haven't used a main dealer for servicing a car for many years but as it's only £140 I'm going to give them a go as it keeps the service history.

David pm me and I will give you the discount code for HH
