The bulb (I hope) that illuminates the switch that controls the passenger heated seat has failed. Anyone replaced this, or know how to remove the console in order to replace it?

Cheers all.

It is an easy and cheap DIY - Think Brett posted it up a while ago.... It is certainly on here somewhere. Have a little play with the search button.

Heated seats... I though you northerners were supposed to be tough? it was a freezing 6 degrees down here to day and I didn't use it.... Even wound the window down to see who was coming at the roundabout ;).

Nice one Matt... Sorry for giving Brett your thunder ;).

Six degrees? We only get that in summer (if we're lucky!)

   If it is any consolation I wear 3/4 length engineers trousers regardless of the weather. Comes from having a Lancastrian girlfriends for 3 years

PASSENGER seat!!. Although going to football getting into a car with frozen leather seats, its very tempting.

Does the plastic shroud have any breakable clips that I will be able to, ahem, break?

Cheers.

My gear stick gator trim panel practically falls off if you just look at it, others have found it a bit stiff to remove. I don't recall anyone reporting they've actually bust any of the clips though (this is one of the first trims to come off when installing Xcarlink).

Have a go and see how you get on. I find a 6" steel rule makes a good prising tool. If using a screwdriver pack the underside with a rag or something so you don't mark anything.

My heated swith button illuminates but my heated seat does not work.

Instead of trying to prise it up from the outside and damaging the trim pull it up from the inside edge (where the gaiter joins the plastic trim). There's enough play in the gaiter for you to get your fingers under the inside edge of the plastic and simply pull upwards 1 corner at a time.
