Hi, I am looking to upgrade the front brakes on my Honda Accord.

It is a 2007 Asian market 2.4 currently fitted with original 280mm x 25mm brake discs and single piston Nissin CL17-C calipers.

I have read a couple of threads on here that detail possible upgrades but the threads were quite old so not sure if better options are available?

I was wondering whether the calipers from a 2008 CRV could work? They are twin piston and use 293mm disc, caliper model number 13CLT. From what I can tell the mounting holes are the same distance but slightly larger so some work is needed.

My other option is to use the calipers and discs from a Honda Inspire (JDM Accord). They use 300mmx28mm discs and 17CL16VN single piston calipers. I think the caliper is basically the same as what I have already so not sure if braking will be much improved?

Or any better options?

yeah they'll fit, but bolt size may be different despite pattern being identical, and the bracket may be offset differently requiring a spacer behind the disc, or washers between the bracket and dog leg - depending on which way it is offset

the brakes thread is still relevant and mostly up to date in later pages, but there's a lot of reading involved and you still have to do your own parts catalogue detective work :p
