2004 2.4 Starter goosed (hope that's all it is) Had the same nightmare as on my last one getting into the 12mm bolt attaching the manifold support bracket.
Neighbour is a mechanic and gave me a hand so starter installed.
Was warned that the socket for the ignition wire pointed sideways as opposed to the rear but thought the cable would reach.
It doesn't and in the process managed to break the wire to what I think is the knock sensor (tried to take this off but the usual nightmare Honda connections)
and tried to be careful but obviously not enough!
Total pain to extend the ignition cable and doubt there is any chance of reconnecting the cable to the knock sensor plug.
So bottom line, will the car still go.... hope so as just spent a fortune on a new exhaust!
I love Hondas but they don't make them easy to work on - could replace the starter on my Ford Escort in half an hour

Can you not just solder an extra piece in? Starter motor? Does that mean you ordered the wrong part?

Knock sensor is on the intake not the exhaust

It's the knock sensor and the only seller in the uk offering the plug with a tail attached is under some illusion it fits the Accord- it doesn't as I found to my cost.
It fits Civics but not Accords. Dozens that would fit but all coming from China and have ordered one but God knows when it will arrive. So scrapyards on Tuesday, although wondering if a civic knock sensor would do the job since I have the connector and tail to match?
