Good morning gents (and of course ladies if there's any present)

My deisel threw up an engine check light yesterday mornng after an uncharacteristic slow start. Stuck the reader on it and it came up with 'P0344 camshaft position sensor "A" circuit intermittent (bank 1 or signal sensor)'. Great! An intermittent problem. I cleared the code and everything has been fine since (so far), but I REALLY need to get it sorted soon as the Mrs is due this week and it's a looooonnnng drive to the hospital.

Can someone tell me where the sensor is on my car? As I can't seem to lay my hands on a manual anywhere, a piccy would be good. This job can't really wait until the weekend, so I'll be doing the job in after work, in the dark, by the roadside. Is crusty wiring/plug likely to be the cause (seeing as it's intermittent) or will it just be that the sensor's had-it?

Thanks in advance.

It's not common for the diesel to throw a cam sensor warning.
Your battery may be weak and need replacing especially if still on original. The long crank may point to this , these cars are hard on batteries.
I wouldn't go changing sensor just yet until you eliminate everything else.

Hi
I checked my fault codes recently and found i have the same fault as you ,'P0344'. I was wondering you fixed the problem?

I have already ordered a replacement battery so i am hoping that is going to fix the problem.
