Hi guys, ever since I got my car the radio never worked. Iv taken the cd player out (aftermarket one) to look for the cable from the aerial on the roof? Iv had the glovebox out and looked behind there and cant trace the cable at all. Anyone help me out? Kinda missing not having a radio.
The external aerial is on the roof on my 6th gen hatchback, and I think the saloons have an extending one in the rear wing
Sounds like yours is missing the male connector in the dash from what I read? There should be one there, it was near the main stereo looms on my Accord. The only thing I can think is maybe someone removed it for some reason? :s
The aerial is on the roof on my car. I have searched high and low behind the dash and cant find the cable anywhere. Why would someone remove it?lol where does the cable run to to get to the roof?il have to try trace it i suppose.
Martin as your car is the facelift 6th gen you won't have the ariel that goes up and down when the HU is turned on. You'll have a 'bee-sting' style one on the roof.
The cable from the ariel to the HU will be a black one with a fitting on the end that cannot be missed. If the cable is nowhere to be found behind the dash then i suggest you remove the glove box as you would if you were to do a pollen filter change. It'll be back there somewhere. It's just a case of looking for it.
As for the path of the cable, it runs the same route that the pre-facelfit one would, i.e out from the HU and then off to the left (as you look at the dash). It's definatly there somewhere. There is no reason to remove the original cable when fitting an HU.

I suspect it has fallen down somewhere behind where the ashtray lives. Take off the wood ftrim and remove the lower section, 4 screws. All sorts of things in there!

Hi Martin, I have a 6th gen Accord which came with an electric aerial on the nearside rear wing. I had to reconnect the aerial when I got the car and found that the cable had dropped down into the space behind the centre console. I groped around for a bit, feeling for anything that might be the right thickness (about 6mm diameter) and then gently pulled it up to see if it had the right connector on the end. Even if you can't trace it, you should find that it emerges somewhere behind the radio.
