Hi!

Got some issues with the central locking. When i'm locking my car with the remote it locks all the doors, but not the drivers door. I can lock the drivers door when I push the nob on the door, and it also then lock all the other doors. What can be wrong here? Is it the motor on the drivers door that have gone bye bye?

Most certainly, yes. I've replaced one myself, but not an easy job to do.

Is there any "how to remove the door panel"? :p

yeah, it may not be that hard. Is there anyone here that sell the door lock actuator for a cheap price?
I found one in the US for the Acura TSX, but they didn't ship wordwide. :( In Norway the Honda dealer wants over 110£ for it... :(

its so easy to remove a door card it should take no more than 5 mins the best way to do it is take off all the screws you see start pulling at the door card gently and see where its pulling then see if theres a screw around that area if that makes sense

I'm a do-it-by-the-book-guy on this things. :p I like to know everything about what I'm doing, before I'm doing it. You know, it's like watching porn before you shag for the first time... :p lol

Btw, got a great deal on the door lock actuator! £29 shipped to Norway! :D And it's OEM.

Probably a daft question, but does the acura tsx actuators connect directly to the uk accord? My rear passenger one needs replaced. And with the new MOT rules coming in, ill need to get it fixed.

It should. I checked up the part no. from http://www.hondaoriginalparts.com with the one he sold from the US, and it matched.

Ouch, lol. Didnt realise the prices of the actuators.

Good find though, ill double check the part number with some sites and speak to a honda technician i know and see where i can get one.

Well, I can announce that I changed the actuator yesterday, and it works perfect! It took some time, but it was well worth it. :)

Where did you get the new actuator from ? I have the same problem on my 2005 Tourer, first the lock was sluggish and now does not work at all. I am in Denmark, where car parts cost a fortune.

Well, I had to replace mine left central door lock actuator (LHD) recently, and as Nuno said in the beginning of the thread - not an easy job. Actually, very difficult job to do.
After some research, it turns out the original door actuators are actually pretty cheap vietnamese pieces of sh** and eventually fail one by one. Ebay is full with replacements, it's the same part for Acura TSX, Odyssey and others, didn't even cross my mind to contact the stealership about this part..
There are some good videos about changing the door actuators (search for Acura TSX door actuator), basically after removing the door card, you need to disconnect all wires and the window guide, these steps are relatively easy and don't require some special skills. Here comes hell:

- removal of the rod which connects to the door handle (not easy, but doable, remove it from the central lock unit and NOT from the door handle, this is much easier)
- removal of the rod which connects to the door lock - very difficult, actually had to break the little plastic which holds the rod in place, I didn't find another way of removing this

Then, you can remove the whole lock with the actuator from the door and replace the actuator, this is clearly shown on the youtube tutorials, no rocket science here as well.
Aaaaaaaand, again, connecting the long rod to the door lock is hard as .., had to glue the plastic and push it with a big screwdriver to clip in. Also, wasn't sure if it will hold up in place after I slam the door, so put a zip tie around it, just in case.

I'm not sure I've explained this quite well. To summarize, you'll need:

- 1.5 hour
- small fingers
- flashlight
- philips screwdriver
- 10mm spanner for the window guide
- impact screwdriver for the three screws which hold the door lock, you might get away with normal, though
- a lot of patience and strong nerves

Once again, everything except removing and re-***embling these stupid rods isn't that hard. I will be replacing my right one soon, so I will post some pictures.

cheers,
Alex
