Hi, just a quick question. I have a 2.2 tourer pre facelift. New battery arrived. so is there a procedure to follow to swap them over? Will anything be upset(radio, windows) by disconnecting the battery?Or is it just a case of . disconnecting neg terminal 1st and swapping?
Cheers Ian. :D

Ian on my old car a facelift there was no problems at all.The only thing that had to reset but did it its self was the Sat nav.
On the 8th gen Honda has gone back to a radio code that comes with the handbook.

Thats great Brett. thanks for a super quick reply. :D

Guys can you just confirm the pre facelift is the same please as we want to give the correct info out.

Brett, mine is a pre-facelift and i didnt have to reset anything when i changed the battery

Thanks Sam for the heads up lol

Good feedback guys much appreciated lol

Mine still seems to struggle a little when it's cold and not been driven for a day or 2, alternator was checked and is fine, old battery was low so hopefully just needs a decent charge and it's nothing more 'costly'...

Hi Guys

I think the answer to my question is contained in this thread but just want to clarify it.

I have a 2004(04) accord 2.2 CDTi and am about to order a new battery as the cold weather has uncovered that the old one is failing. I think I'm going to get the Bosch S5008 096 but cannot see for certain if there is a radio code to enter once the new battery is connected.

I'm not sure what the 'facelift' you describe is but mine is typical for 2004.

Anyone know if there is a radio code, or can I just swap the batteries?

Many thanks

Mark

Hi,Mark,

Just swap the battery and thats it.

Regards
Tomas

And to clarify off topic, yours is what we term a pre-facelift Gen7. Facelift was from 06 ish up to 57 plate and some 08 plates (?).

also slightly off topic ;)

should you change the battery after x number of years or wait until it starts to give problems (e.g. on cold starts)

thanks in advance

Thanks guys for the rapid responses, both about the battery changing and the facelift.

Umair, I can't help you I'm afraid but I had not thought of changing mine until it hadn't the power to turn the car over when it got a bit colder the other day despite being apparently well charged.

Mark

Not worth changing until is knackered, may last a few year more. Can get a battery checker for about £6 of eBay if you want to keep an eye it every now and again...
