Child Safety lock stuck on

On one of the rear doors the child lock is stuck permanently on so I can only open the door from the outside.

I've tried to use a flat head screw driver to try and force the switch down but obviously don't want to break the thing.

Any tips on fixing it or do I need to replace the unit?

Probably something jamming it form inside or its broke, I would take the door cards off and have a look inside.
