Mine are for facelift tourer.

OK so I've got 501 wedge bulbs for my boot, door cards and glove box. 31mm festoon for the lights in the roof. 31mm fuse type 'vanity' bulbs for the sun visors.

What do I need for the important stuff?

I understand number plate bulbs are 501 as well? Any size restrictions? How do you change them on the tourer?

Sidelights are 501 as well? Any size restrictions? How do you change them? Is it that thing about pulling the trim from under the wheel arch?

Reverse bulb? Is it a 582 (no idea where I got that number from), so like this one maybe? Again how do you change it?

I'd mostly like to change the indicators but have heard bad things about flashing speed going wrong and other bulbs blowing and glow plug lights coming on all the time? What are these CANBUS bulbs? Do I need to get technical with a soldering iron and resistors (cos if I do I probably won't bother changing them :D ).

Headlight is H1? Are these limited to normal bulbs still or is LED tech good enough for driving lights now? Why do all bulb websites have HID on the selection for the tourer, I'm sure mine isn't HID? Or is it? How do I tell?

What bulbs are fogs and main beam? To be fair I'll probably leave all the normal lights (brakes, mains, rear lights), maybe change the headlights.

Have a blimp in the owners handbook - it shows how to change the bulbs.

Well the 31mm fuse bulbs I bought are too long for the vanity mirrors, so that's annoying! Almost all interior done otherwise.

Trev these were sightlessly long in mine as well. What i did was gentle file the ends to take some metal off.
This will give you the correct fit but very tight.
Also mate if you take out the existing bulbs the fitment number will be on them.

Thought I might have to, the driver side went in with a push but the other side won't.

Any answer for the indicator bulbs?

Nobody got LED indicators?
Trev give Jav a PM i think he is one of the few members that has this.
I think the indicators require soldering resistors but Jav will no more.

PM replied :)

iv just purchased 38smd sidelights for the front... will these fit as there quite long? also how do you get the regi plate bulbs done?

Was about to say, speak with Jav as he is th LED king on here

Apparently the 13 SMD ones like this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-T10-2-9W-6500K-185-Lumen-13-SMD-LED-Car-Light-Bulbs-/120740679798
do fit, not sure about massive long ones although the housing is quite long and thin for the sidelights.

see what happens when i get them.... seen a few ads for 64smd h7s are these actually replacements for hids now as the videos on youtube show the smds r brighter than hids

SMDs have a very different light pattern to HID bulbs, hence the need to have them stuck all over the sides and front of the (cheap) LED bulb to get any kind of spread. Personally I don't think LED tech is there yet for replacement main bulbs - the top end ones are bright enough (example: http://www.luminus.com/products/SST-90.html) but they don't have the throw of bulbs, plus they're too expensive for eBay bulbs.

Got my sidelights in no bother and theres still space coUld possibly fit 68s but im happy with these, gor 10k hids aswell so nice n bright front of house!

ive nearly done my full LED conversion all thats needed is the reading lights and sun visors can anyone send me an fleabay link pm here if poss?

These are the vanity mirror/sun visor lights I bought:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1pc-31mm-Vanity-3-SMD-LED-Xenon-White-Fuse-Bulb-/190624780027#ht_773wt_1273
Or there's a warm colour version:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1pc-31mm-Vanity-2-Power-SMD-LED-Warm-White-Fuse-Bulb-/200697860116#ht_863wt_1273

For the reading lights, just search eBay for "31mm SMD festoon" and you can add the word white or blue or whatever if you want. I went for the enclosed type a bit like this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-Super-White-6-LED-Festoon-Interior-Light-Bulbs-31mm-/300640636369#ht_2040wt_1040
Except mine are blue.
