Hi,

I have a 2002 uk Accord SE 2.0L.

I am trying to replace the altenator warning bulb that is in behind the rev counter/speedo ***y. The three screws have been removed from dash facia panel and the top part sems to be free. However the lower part seems like it may be screwed in.

Has anybody got a link/picture or whatever of how to get this panel out please?

Thanks.

Don't know if this is much use:

Ah ianders, thanks for the diagram, that did help somewhat.

Yes there was a screw right in behind the headlamp level adjust switch. I also had to remove the cruise and the foglight switch either side of it as well and disconnect them, that resulted in plastic locking tabs snapping.

However it seems that the panel will not release down near the radio. Does anybody know if there are any more screws about that need to be removed?

Seems a real slog just to change a bulb, and it is so easy to mark the plastic dash doing this job.

Hey Tom,

You'll also need to pull out the hazard light button as well - same deal as the cruise/fog/headlight adjuster.

Once you've got those 4 out along with the 3 screws above the dials, then it's all just clips. Drop the steering wheel all the way down on the height adjuster to make it easier.

I normally pull the bezel out enough at the far right hand side (cruise/light adjuster/fogs) so I can get a plastic scribe in and slide it along to pop out the clips.

It's a pain the first time, but you'll get it in 5 mins the next time you need to do it!

Cheers mattster, yes and out it comes.

Just for other peoples reference I used masking tape around the switch apertures to minimise the damage.

It's a shame that Honda do not have the facility to make removal of the switches easier as it is so easy to damage a switch bezel or mark the dashboard. At the end of the day dashboard bulbs are going to need replacing at some stage. However it seems that the parts are made for ease of manufacture without giving too much thought for maintenance. I was also thinking if there is a Honda tool that disengages the two locking tangs on the switch to remove them?

Anyway thanks for everybody's help.
