I've noticed during the recent cold spell that the heater / de-mister is pretty poor on my Accord. It takes ages to clear the windscreen of mist and condensation when I first start it in the morning. Is this normal? The air con and heater work fine (although the heater does take a long time to actually warm up) but the front windscreen epscially takes a long while to clear (about 5-10 mins if I keep it running).

Probably obvious but are you using the front screen demist button, which blasts the AC on the screen?

If you've got a lot of condensation or water on the inside, make sure you don't have a leak, etc unlikely in the Accord.

Check your pollen filter is good and not grimy and blocked. This can lead to misting issues.

Clean your screen, not just give it a quick spritz with some window cleaner and a wipe.
The best cleaners are the ones you wipe on and let dry to a haze and then polish off. Windolene cream cleaner works very well.
Small particles of dirt hold water vapour better than a clean screen and consequently mist much more.

Plus one for keeping the glass clean, you can get "anti-fog" by rain-x as well. I tend to use it when the temp drops seems to work ok

Yes, I'm using the front screen demist button and I can hear air being blasted onto the windscreen. Odd thing is, the two side vents appear to clear the side door windows quite quickly, its just the front windscreen takes ages.

I do clean the windscreen internally quite regularly but not with Windowlene. I might give that a go. I'm starting to suspect there's a small leak though as there does seem to be an excessive amount of moisture in the car. Any ideas where the likely culprits would be located?

Not sure on the Accord, but things to check are sunroof drains if you have one. Check all your carpets and roof lining for wetness. Check under your boot carpet for moisture or water. The seam sealer fails on other Hondas between the roof rails and tailgate, maybe worth looking at.

Also as stated check your cabin filter too and that your heating is not on recirculate.

I had the same problem and after a check up i found water in foot area on driver side ( eu-left ) under the floor mat
Cheched drains under the windshield, all 4 around the sunroof, all door gaskets, door membranes... from nowhere i did not detected any leaks and all drains are fully flowing.
After that i lifted the mat and dried it
With the mat lifted checked any leak inside the car and i was not able to detect it

Barring a water leak/dampness inside I agree with some other recommendations on here; Clean the inside of the screen (de-grease it) I use Autoglym Fast Glass it gets all the grub out from the screen (you'll be surprised at the amount of dirt that can build up causing misting problems/glare in sunlight). Clean pollen filter is also essential. A/C on while blowing the hot or cold air (dehumidifies). Don't get in with wet hair or pants ;op

I see no end of bell ends who cannot see through the sun glare cos they can't be bothered to clean the inside of the screen properly....... then slam the brakes cos they can't see......... grrr
