2007 Accord i-CTDi
Hello,

I have some questions about the 2.2 i-CTDi engine. My car is a 2007 Accord with aprox 190.000 km. Regularly serviced within intervals.
First question is why the engine is warming so slow? In the picture bellow you can see data read with the HDS after ~25km. Outside temperature was at that time +1 degree. ECT is 75 degrees !!! (required intervals are between 76 and 100). In the past i had VW Golf 4 1.9 TDI which in ~5 km was at 89 degrees. Is your diesels warm the same ? Is this normal ? As you can see also the IAT2 (MAP) sensor is not in the required intervals. And another thing to mention here is that my thermostat was changed last spring because also then i thought is warming slow. After the replace it was slightly warming faster. From what the shop told me they put a OEM one back in. Meanwhile testing with the HDS with engine running, within 10 min ECT showed 73 degrees. It dropped and i don't think is normal. What do you think?

Second question is about the fuel temperature, as you can see in the picture, was also so low.
Shouldn't at this point the fuel heater be ON? As you can see bellow the FUEL TEMPERATURE the FUEL HEATER RETURN and FUEL HEATER RELAY COMMAND are OFF (red dot).

The third question is about the CALCULATED LOAD VALUE. In idle is at 40%. But not always, it is alternating. A few minutes stays at ~40%, after a while is ~16%.
Is this normal in idle to be a load on the engine so much, ~40% ?

And the last question is about the aircon. Though the aircon is OFF (it says OFF on the touch display) it is starting once in a while for 1 or 2 seconds. It is confirmed by the HDS, last 2 lines in the picture above => A/C CLUTCH RELAY DRIVE SIGNAL and A/C SWITCH will turn green.
Is this normal ?

I am asking all this things because at this time I have a very poor fuel economy 9L / 100km (80% town , 20% motorway).

Any help appreciated,
Thanks

On your last point, on the pre-facelift at least, if the cabin temp is set above the coolant temp (even with the aircon set to off) the air-con will try and warm the car quicker (Google search 'hot gas heating system'). Turn the desired temp to 'Lo' to stop the compressor coming in every few seconds. The system is to try and warm things up as it takes sooo long to take the chill off!
