At the moment I have Continental SportContact 2 on the back both with about 5mm.
On the front offside I have a Uniroyal RainExpert with about 5mm.
On the front nearside I have a Michelin Primacy HP with about 2mm!

Is it an issue to have different brands on the same axle?

My options are:
1) New tyre on FNS.
2) New Uniroyal on FNS.
3) Option 1 or 2 but swap the rears.
4) 2 new tyres on the front, keep the Uniroyal as a spare tyre (probably swap the rears).
5) 2 new Continentals on the front, keep the Uniroyal as a spare tyre (probably swap the rears).

What do we think?

Option 5 for me...

I was thinking that. :( National are near me and do Contis, but they want £221 for 2!!! I can get 2 from BlackCircles for £138, have to ask how much my local place charge to fit tyres if I bring with.
Need to know what laser alignment kit my local has as well.

I had to go for a cheap option when one of my fronts (Goodyear efficient grip about 200 miles old) got a puncture.

So Im running with the a mix and it hasn't seemed to make much difference to me, although with it being a tourer I don't expect too much around the corners!

I need to get alignment done anyway, I'm thinking if I can get a good price I might just as well get 2 new tyres and have a spare in the shed (I've got goo in the boot, so spare tyres would be handy).

Anyone know anything about laser alignment? There's a place in Portsmouth that have a Hunter system which I've heard is good? They do a price match on tyres too. OR there's a ProTyre near me which use the same system as Micheldever apparently (who I know are awesome).

BlackCircles do 2 Continentals fitted for £165. F1 Autocentres will price match and give £5 per tyre, plus they have Hunter laser alignment, they're price was £166 but they'll price match so it's £155. Think I'll go for that.

Sounds like a plan... don't forget to post up your before/after sheet from the hunter machine.

Option 6. Which is option 5 BUT putting the new rubber on the back and moving the old to the front.

Im almost tempted at that price to change my oddities on the front, there is an F1 autocenter just up the road from my work

I had mixed tyres on the back, but same on the front. Dispite getting a 4-wheel alignment my steering wheel was still at an angle when going straight ahead. After changing the backs to two of the same, the steering wheel has come back to centre when driving in a straight line.

That's the reason for my change, apart from being near the limit on one of them my wheel points slightly right even though there's no pulling or anything.

OK done this morning, wheel now points forwards!

Don't know why they didn't adjust caster? And just noticed it says 2008- on it! Is that wrong?

I think it's pulling to the right now, but can't be sure as I know the Accord can be 'twitchy' anyway. It's very slight but seems if I point it forwards and go over a bump it starts to turn ever so slightly right. Need someone local to come and drive it for me to see what they think! :D

Anyone know about the 2008- used for the alignment? Are the settings going to be different if it is the wrong one selected?
