Hi everybody,
Does anybody have an idea how to change the bulb for the digital clock in a Honda accord 1998-2003 model, after trying to prise it out of the console with a couple of credit cards (yeah I know you're all laughing) I have given up, is there anybody out there who has mastered this task?
Any help.

i know is old and maybe you have fixed till know but if not follow the steps:
1. take the radio unit out
2. get inside with the hand and touch the back of the bulb and spin clock wise to release; it helps to put a camera to see where it is first.
3. buy this bulbs from here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181200233972?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

good luck

ha ha ha
i remember i had the same question.
I got the bulb from Honda, but it wasnt a straight a fit. had to cut it a little to fit. I think i paid around £1...

I took the plastic panel out. From the gear knob. Then unscrew the clock and pull it out. Then take the wires out of it and there you will find the bulb.
Might sound daunting, but once u get going it is easy, just keep hold of screws.

Good luck

Mine is gone aswell, so another job added to my long list, the one on mine is built into the climate control unit, so its going to be a kerfuffle to do by the looks of it!

Cris are those bulbs definitely the right ones? I can't find any info on what bulbs are required anywhere. Mine is built into the Climate control unit.

there were diy about stereo removal from our accords.try to searh for it in this forum. in short: you need to remove plastic panel from arround dash and stereo(3screws) then 4 screws to remove stereo and climate control units.bulb type is correct. it is called "T5"

Thanks for the confirmation, there is a DIY one on the removal, do you know if the bulb just slots in at the back of the climate unit then? or does the climate unit need to be taken apart?

Thanks, I will try and remember to take some pictures when I do this in case it helps anyone.

exec, sorry for my late reply but i really do not know if in your case is the same bulb, but i just guess and say YES, it should be, I really do not think that honda put other kind of bulb there...
the correct bulbs to replace are just in the link posted by my above, only to put the bulb inside the case and back in the clock..the same bulb its in the cigarrete lighter and glove box and maybe other parts...
another thing is I do not know how you can take it out in your case but it should be simple like in mine case.
good luck to DIY
cheers mate

No worries man, thanks for the help, will post some info when I get round to doing it.

You need T3 bulbs for the clock / fan control module, not T5 :) (3 of them)

Thanks for the info, where can I get T3 from, can't find them anywhere unless they go by some other name?

Looks like it is T3, ordered a set of two although I need only 1, but they are different ratings, hopefully they'll work, also ordered some led ones t4.2 to see if they work, but they are white so probably wont display correctly.
