Hi Guys,

I've just replaced the N/S headlight, but it's a little dim - The bulbs are 55W H1.

Is this a duff bulb, or a bad earth somewhere?

The car loves to eat bulbs, but then I've read they all do!

Thanks.

Matt try swapping the lamps over to see if it happens to the other lamp.

I unknowingly put on of my bulbs in upside down a while back.... didn't realise, but got an advisory on the MoT last month for a dim headlight!

Hi Guys

Lots of people on TA run Nightbreakers. After many sets I've given up on them and have returned to stock. They (seem to) last about 10 minutes! The light improvement is marginal (though they are definitely brighter), and I'd argue just wiping the headlight lens before each journey gives as good an increase in illumination. The slightest bit of dirt robs the output more than anything else.

Many reckon the Philips last much better -but I've not been able to get set through finance yet!

HIDs are your other option, but I don't want to go down that route on principal. Each to their own.

Do a search, there's quite a bit of debate over weak headlights...

I've got Osram Nightbreakers. They're not earth-shatteringly great, but I believe they're about the best legal option... cheaper to buy from Amazon.

You shouldn't fit HIDs into your halogen housings... it's illegal, mainly because the beam pattern will then be wrong and you'll dazzle oncoming drivers.

Like what Jon says, much cheaper from Amazon and about as good as any others.

Thanks for the valuable advice guys much appreciated
