Hi all Starting to have some problems. 2007 ctdi 156k used a taxi. the other day the clutch pedal dropped to the floor, but only for a second. Earlier when changing gear the was a big judder and a knocking coming from clutch pedal Brought to mate and says possible dmf.
1 He was saying it is possible to change to solid flywheel. good idea or bad?
2 Do i tell him to get a luk clutch for it ?
3 what else should i look to have changed while he is in there?

Different problem . Sometimes when engine is hot it runs a bit rough ( happens a couple of times during the day)but if i rev it over 2.5 it clears . Any ideas? Fuel filter is due for change

also want to change to led lights any recommendations on where to buy? I take it to stay away from chinese sites

it doesn't make sense to fit SMF to oem clutch, if you want you can fit upgraded clutch from CG motorsport, on civicinfo there's a guy who has fitted SMF and 8 paddle clutch to his CRV and he said that the only difference is when starting uphill as then he feel little judder, other then than almost oem feel, but CG has other setups available so it's worth to check their website ;-)

+1
If you fit a standard clutch/SMF combination, then you'll lose all spring cushioning between the engine and gearbox. I don't know how unpleasant this would actually make the car, but I doubt it would be nice.

Certainly the CG Motorsport sprung clutch/SMF combinations are available and many Civinfo members have had them fitted, but unfortunately they still use the standard (Honda/LUK) pressure plate which loses clamping pressure over time, which is the primary cause of almost all i-CTDi clutch failures... the only real advantage of the CG Motorsport clutches is that they will handle much greater torque than the standard clutches. But, ***uming you don't wish to tune/remap your car, then I'd stick with the standard clutch and DMF (made by LUK).
