Only seen this on desiel threads? got a strange noise coming from myne on idle when the engines warm. Don't think it was there before the oil change 0w30.....sort of sounds a little like a Subaru from 3-4k in first too :S lol.

Iv nether heard of this on a petrol. Can you be more precise with the noise maybe get a vid up.

It can and has happened in the past to petrols, but its rare and probably not the cause of your problem. I would recommend taking it to someone who knows his way arounf a honda for a test drive.

Cheers guys will try and get a vid up soon. To be honest it mite just be the tappets and me being paranoid lol.

Any update on this?? And do Honda UK recommend 0w-30 for the petrols as here in Ireland we're told 10w-40 or 0w-20??

Also never heard of the timing chain giving issues on the petrols?? It is recommended to have the valves adjusted every 2nd service, but it's not normally done unless they get noisy??

Honda Europe recommend 10w40 or 0w20 for their petrols - not just Ireland. Apparently this is optimal for the European whether conditions.

Not heard of timing chain issues and as for checking valve adjustments, I'd only go at them if I knew I had an issue.
