Double Din. What's needed

So I am finally getting around to fitting my Alpine double din head unit that I had in my old honda. I currently have a 2003 type s.

Can anyone give me a definitive list of what is needed to get this fitted and working with the standard head unit still working to run the heating controls. I have an idea of what I might need but would like confirmation so I can buy it all before starting to pull out the trim.

I have searched for old posts and although there are a few who have done it already I could not find a parts list.

Are you thinking of getting a double din that fits where the current radio is ? I installed an android double din unit just below this because i hear getting the heating controls etc working is a real PITA.

Also, premium vs non-premium audio will make a difference (the premium has an independent amp so the output from the stock HU is line level).

From my research (and just a heads up) the climate controls work differently on the diesel and petrol apparently, something to do with the way they engage the A/C pump on the engine. Installing one version in the other leads to no A/C.

I was looking to install it below the current head unit in the storage cubby hole. Ideally need to know what to do on the wiring side so I can run the new headunit but still power the standard one for the heating and ac.

It is a 2.4 type s accord so no issues with diesel ac and don't think it has premium sound.
