Hi all, Just a quick question, I am hopefully picking up a new (to me) 8th gen I-dtec tomorrow (no sleep for me tonight) :) and am already thinking ahead, I am sure I have read somewhere that leaving a dtec ticking over isn't good for the DPF filter, reason I ask as over the past number of years I have got into the habit of starting my car about 10 minutes before I leave for work to warm the oil/turbo etc before I head home (high performance petrol turbo engines) Just wondered if this wasn't a good idea on the diesel?
I await DPF guru's to clarify!!
Thanks in advance

Probably not a good idea no but then DPF in general is not a great idea..

The moment you have an issue consider removing it.

That's my honest advice having dealt with plenty of these and other DPF cars.
