Hi Guys

I know there has been a bit about this in other threads but there is a lot of conflicting info around

Given that my car has still got the original belt and idler pulley on it, I want to change it and get rid of the idler wheel.

I understand that the modified belt is shorter and it seems the general consensus is that it should be 1785mm long (please correct me if I am wrong)

Problem starts when I go onto various car parts websites and speak with them that they are all saying that there is only one for the car and it is 2265mm long.

Various Honda garages can't (or wont) even tell me the length.

What is the definitely correct length and what do I ask for?

I am doing this because like most of you probably, my alternator seems to have the dreaded bearing problem. Is there any alternative for this other than going to Honda for the bearing and paying an arm and leg? What have the rest of you done?

Regards

1785mm is the required length after idler remover, so a PK1785.

This is the exact same one (from my eBay history) that I ordered and fitted a couple of months ago... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301274907635?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT - they actually sent me a PK1784 though, but it was fine. It was a tad cheaper when I bought mine!

The former long belt is 2265mm, hence the confusion. I had similar problems when trying to order the replacement shorter belt... member Zook31 (Woody) was the one who told me that the PK1785 is the correct belt.

Thank for that Jon_G

I'll give it a go.

May have been a "tad cheaper" but it's still better that Honda prices isn't it!!!

Do you or anyone else know about sourcing the alternator bearing apart from Honda??

Regards
