I am toying with the idea of replacing my creaky cloth trimmed seats for leather ones. Before I get my heart set on it, the driver side lether seats have electric adjustment......where could one go about wiring that in? Is there a handy dandy connector waiting to be used?

Thanks

its not too hard to wire up :) i did it in about 2hours and that was me been very neat B)
if you decide to go ahead let us no and a can talk you through it + pics ;)

also the leather seats come heated and again you will need to wire them but this is a piece of cake to do.

( handy to have in scotland )

Swish nice one!
When/if I have the disposable income I shall probably give it a go.

I may end up just buying one replacement seat as the driver one crunches, or one day try and find out what part of the current seat has died.
I think a combination of exciting heirpin Swiss roads and 18 stone of idiot may have caused the problem lol.

I would be looking for some disposable income if i was in your shoes :p

shame you never said sooner coz i would of given you my old 1 lol

honda are gods when it comes to building engines but cowboys on interiors lmao

thats y recaro do all the type R seats

Not wanting to start a cross thread barny :D  - , but my 7th Gen EX seats pee'd all over the Vauxhall Insigina seats VW's aren't all that either. In fact, the closest I have come for comfort is my (English)Sis-in-law's brand spanking new MX5 (with eibachs). too small for me, but remarkably supportive through country roads. Just a shame that it feels like a club to the head when the lid closes on my tall asz. B)

lol i have driven meany diffrent cars and the seats are very inportant!, the standerd vauxhall and ford seats suck, they offer no support at all :( the worest seats i have ever been in must be a honda integra DC5 Type R, really supportive but hell after a 3 hour drive  the honda accord 6th gen are comfy, but i find my self moving the back support all the time ;) the best i have been in would of been my seat Ibiza cupra MK2  have even slept in them lol when been too tired to drive

my friend has a new mx5 :) mite ask for a wee shot ;)

Guys

I am considering changing my 2001 CG8's (SE model )cloth trimmed seats for leather one from an Excutive model, just wondering if it will work on mine, fittings, eletric wise? from previous reply i heard eletric heated seat being mentioned? i can live without the heating function.

thanks

I beg to differ on "some" Ford and Vx seats. The leather seats in my C-Max (Ghia 2.0TDCi) are fantastic for long journeys. Also the leather ones in a Cav V6 CDX were good and those in my mate's old Omega Elite excellent. The seats in a Ka we had briefly (hideous pile of cr*p car) were easily the worst in any car we've had!

Best seats I've sat in recently - easy - '06 reg Volvo V70 SE D5 with leather.

My Accord Coupe V6 seats are super comfy. They are leather and heated - Would they slot into accord2001's CG8, being an Accord of same era?

Recaros are the way forward!!!! :D

Anywho, seats from the same car will fit another of similar year. i.e seats from an exec spec 6th, will fit say an SE 6th gen.

As for the wiring maybe Gordon will be able to point you in the right direction, otherwise personally i'd take it somewhere (TRUSTED) and have them wire it for you.

I'm not sure if seats from a V6 coupe would go straight into a saloon or hatch of the same era, as the V6 was an American spec car iirc whereas the saloons and hatches came from Swindon and were designed over here. Same with the aerodeck, they were just the American model sold as an RHD for our market, I'd imagine they're fitted out a bit differently.

The seats for the V6 will not go into any other 6th gen apart from the same car.
