Hi folks, just looking for possible causes or if anyone has come across a 7th gen diesel with oil in the coolant/rad? A buddy has a car stuck in a garage and they can't seem to find the cause. The most likely scenario according to them is that the oil cooler is leaking, which is a 600 quid fix, then lookin at head gasket (possible €1000)and possible crack in the block, (engine is kaputt!!)

I've tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything relating to this problem? All advice appreciated :D

It's nether good to find oil in the coolant.
My 1st thing would be head gaskit but very rair in these cars.

Very rare indeed. I would suspect head gasket but depends on what else the coolant is used for to cool.

As its been said before, head gaskets are a rare failure scenario unless the car has been severely overheated previously.

I would go for the oil cooler myself, take it out and dry it as best you can.
Then fill the water side with water and apply a pressure to this and watch for any leakage from the oil inlet/outlet pipes
