engine pinking noise

I have a Accord 2011 Y-reg 1.8S manuel,emgine code F18B2E..Recently the engine has been making a pinging noise under load when needing a bit of speed or climbing hills.I changed the plugs as they were worn out and it seemed to cure it..But it has come back but it dosent allways happen..Could it be rubbish grade petrol.I used the std ngk plugs and a couple of months ago i put in a new air filter all though not a genuine part.I am told that it could be to much air being let in or the timeing or the valve clearences.Any idears or what it might be as im loathed to take it to honda at £70 an hour.
I havent used any other petrol than std unleaded 95 ron...

First things i'd check

1 - leads
2 - dizzy cap and arm
3 - Fuel filter
4 - Oil level and condition
5 - Try a tank or 2 of Vpower
6 - Valve clearances
7 - When was the last service?
8 - Condition of the air filter
9 - Have you had any fault light?

This is where i'd start. Hope this helps.

Ignition timing too far advanced is what causes pre-ignition.
Check the inside of the distributor cap, make sure the distributor has not come loose and get your timing checked.
