I have owned my Honda Accord 2.2cdti for nearly 2 years and I need to add something to it. I had considered selling up and getting a Civic Type R FD2 but having read what is on the forum I think there is still a lot of fun to be had with the Accord. I have seen that Elite is the remaper of choice and everyone is happy with it. Any advice on what to go for? I am looking at Stage 1 remap rather than stage 2. In relation to the clutch issue it appears that most have changed it afterwards. Has anyone gone anywhere other than Honda as I see the replacement clutch is £545.

Hello
I would say for dealer replacement £545 is a very good price. I can confirm its pretty much an all day job for the guys at Honda
Go there mate as its piece of mind knowing that the job is done right. Also there is a special allignment tool that is needed to seat the pressure plate and friction plate to the flywheel which Honda only have. Your normal garage just won't have that equipment unless maybe there a Honda specialist

^^ what he said

A remap won't make it a Type R beater, but it will certainly put a whole new dimension to your car.

For the price Honda does it for it is a no brainer really.

You won't get it done as well anywhere else I would have thought.

I will definately be going for the stage 1 remap through Elite and from what everyone has said I will use Honda for clutch replacement if needed.

Welcome along Leigh,

there are a few reviews of the re-map on here in a dedicated section, but I think you probably need to get your post count up a little more.

but briefly it is well worth doing, it brings the car so much more alive, whilst keeping the refined qualities, the power is there when you need it, but equally it will still drive as smoothly as it did previously.

Need to make sure everything is good with the car though as any map will highlight any underlying issues.

Get it remapped, mate, I drove a stock accord yesterday and the feeling was as if I was driving with the handbrake on...
