Estate shaking

Hi All

I own a 2006 accord cdti 2.2 estate with 140k on the clock.

The last 6 months Im getting really bad shaking which feels like its coming form the rear passenger side, its so bad the seat next to me shakes. I have been told that this is the drive shaft but Im not sure. I brought it into a honda garage and they hadn't a clue!!

Just a few things,
It there isnt any shaking in the steering wheel.
Its really bad if you are overtaking or accelerating hard.

Oh does the timing chain need to be replaced on theses? Im reading reports that it might need to be!

It is more likely to be the inner CV joints. It is a common problem. Passenger side will go and the other may follow soon after. We have had members use afternarket parts with poor results. Stick to genuine parts but be prepared for an expensive repair i'm afraid.
 
As SAJ said inner joints or it will be your drive shaft.
If your not getting and shaking from your steering wheel I would say your wheels are fine.

unless its the rear wheels. He said it is shaking from the rear.
 
^True. You could try rotating the tyres or balancing them again. I hope it is just a wheel weight that has fallen off
 
Dident see that Neal lol.also one to look at is a wheel bearing causing play in your wheel.There is a very good DIY hear from Sal hear.
 
Shaking from the rear?? there isnt much to go wrong with the rear set up.

Like Neal says check the balancing and swap wheels over to rule out.

Sounds / vibrations are hard to pinpoint so I would also think perhaps its really the front and the inner cv joints.
 
Hi Guys

Its been a while since my last post, here's a list of things I have done.

Changed all rims and tyres on the car
Had tracking done.
Had tracking and 4 wheel alignment done.

Now after the 4 wheel alignment the read out said camber and alignment was fine apart for the caster being out on the side thats giving the hassle also the tyre on that side is wearing on the inside in a S pattern.

My question is, can you adjust the caster? Main dealer thinks not!
 
I seem to recall there's something in the wheel setup on our Accords that isn't adjustable and castor rings a bell, although I could be wrong.
 
I seem to need a bearing replaced in the rear, hopefully this is causing the problem......fingers crossed its being changed tomorrow.
