Took my mk6 Honda for MOT this week, overall it passed, but examiner said that he doubt it will pass next year on account of failing the Fast Idle Test.
Co was measured as 0.41 % vol , (Limits max are 0.2)

Second Fast idle test
CO came in at 0.01 % vol

Was advised it could be the lambda sensor or cat that needs changing.

Any advise on this would be appreciated.

attached are the results from the mot

Thanks Metso

Most likely a combination of blocked cat and old sensor. Worth changing the lambda, they lose their efficiency after a few years and you’ll notice your car feel sharper and a bit more economical.

is, this expensive to change the lambda sensor?
Apparently there are two? one before the cat convertor and one after?

5 minute replacement with the right tools and access under the car.
