Hi All,

I installed my HID kit around 2 months ago with 6000K bulbs, no problem and all was good. I then decided to try the 5000K bulb as this was brighter than the 6000K. I've noticed a flicker from the 5000K bulb, similar to this:

Does anyone know what the problem is or, more importantly how to fix it?

Thanks.

I had this and ended up putting new ballasts and new bulbs in. Couldn't get to the bottom of it as the ballasts that made it flicker worked fine with other bulbs but the bulbs were tested with other ballasts and also worked fine!

The funny thing is that the 6000K bulbs worked fine. As soon as I changed them to 5000K......flickering! lol

May try and change the 5000K bulbs and see if that makes any difference, if not then I'll stick to the 6's.

While we're talking about HID bulbs, do you know what type bulb the front fogs are on the pre facelift Accord CTDi? Gonna change them to HID while I'm at it!

Sorry I don't know but if you do a search it'll be on here somewhere.

Mine were the same. 6k = ok. 5k = flicker. V strange.

H11 I think? JavJav did this mod recently.

Sorry I meant 4300k that picketed never had 5000k ones before.

Mine also flickered when not even inthe headlight. I know what you mean though CJ about the wires being tight.

I know this is an old thread, but I came across it while searching for the same problem.

I have purchaced these 'inline capacitors' and they remove the flickering.

Hopefuly this will help anyone with the same problem.

The above smooth the voltage that is delivered by the alternator, which is the cause of the flickeriing. A cheep fix at less than £5 for a set.
