Fog Lights

Discovered that both my front fog light lenses are now shattered.

Going to fabricate some plastic lense replacements since the OEM parts do not list the glass part separately and comes as a whole unit and is close to £200. Each!

Lights still work, removed as much glass that was broken and patched up with a few layers stick-back plastic to keep water out. Cant tell that they are broken unless you kneel down for a close inspection. Not a happy bunny and am surprised at how vulnerable they are to stones/foreign objects being able to break them.

Sigh!

go to a local plastic specialist and ask them to make the covers out of polycarbonate :) they will be able to mould them to the exact shape easily and should not cost you more than £60 for the pair + spares to be done.

Polycarb is used ot make riot sheilds, so will be pleanty strong enough :)

I managed to find some on eBay. They were around £65 delivered.

Perhaps you did but they wont be for the 8th Gen - they'll be for the 7th Gen. There are non-OEM 8th Gen fog lights on ebay but they have very bad fitting and wont touch them.

Yep, I have an uncle who is kindly doing them for me - lucky he works in/with plastics. :)

Sorry mate I didn't read your full post. I did however check the fog light with the 1 I replaced & it looked identical to me.once fitted I can't see the difference between the oem or the eBay 1

Yep I need one as well lol

Ah yes I know of those - seen them before but as they're not OEM and the seller couldnt guarantee quality of fitment - not to mention the price listed has gone up from £45 to £69.99 each. Dont need the unit, just need the glass and I'll be damned to pay nigh on £140 for two pieces of glass that will likely shatter again with something striking them whilst driving! Sooner not have the darn fogs - dont use them anyway and with Xenons fitted, I'd be surprised if I ever used them at all.
