I'll be attempting an intercooler replacement this weekend. I've been told you take the bumper cover off to do this but it's not that obvious how to get it off. Is there a guide anywhere?

Very easy indeed Steven this i have copied and pasted from Crespo

Its dead easy. To screws either side of the bumper in the arches and then a load of plastic pop rivets along the top of the grill (prize them out with a flat head screwdriver) 3 or 4 more plastic rivet things under the bumper and that's it. Just pull it off.

There's a thead in the DIY section with pics that show where most of the upper clips are, though it's for headlight removal, not complete bumper removal.
See http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/1406-headlight-removal-and-part-of-the-bumper/

If you want to see an exploded drawing, go to the Lings Honda website.

Put in your car reg, and then after a couple of other clicks, you'll come to all the drawings for your car. Go to the bumpers drawing.

There are several clips under the front bumper, and a couple of hex-head blots into captive nuts. The latter rust up, and are the most difficult part of the job, the rest is very easy, just lots of clips on the upper part. When you remove the clips, make sure you know where they go back, because some are longer than others, as you will find out

That easy? Wow, thanks.

^ only very easy if the captive nuts on the inner fenders (wheel arch) are not rusty when you try to undo the hex-heads under the bumper. If they are rusty, you might hear cracking plastic on the inner fenders.

One tip for doing this if your on your own. When you have removed the screws from each of the wheel arches and released one side of the bumper by giving it a yank make sure you wrap up the sharp corner with a microfiber cloth or something so that when you go around to pull the other side out the loose side does not scratch your front wing while its flapping about !! ;)
