Front Parking sensor fault?

Yesterday morning I got into the car to drive to my mothers for her birthday (120 miles) and noticed that the front centre sensor was beeping even though there was nothing in front of me. It has continued to do so since even after a clean of the sensors and a wash and the long round trip. It seems a little random as in it sometimes stops for a few seconds but normally as soon as I stop and put the car in 1st gear it's away again.
Could this be a DIY jobbie or should I drive the 50 miles to the dealer as the car is still under warranty?
Any advice would be most appreciated.

Was it raining by any chance ? Have been known to go off by drips of water passing over them occasionally , button down by right knee to turn them off when this happens ....

Yep mine has done this for the last year only when it rains.
I'm convinced it damp getting into the sensor

No. It was icy overnight though and the car was well frozen. It was perfect until then.

If, like Brett says, it's damp in the sensor, then freezing something that's damp can only make it worse

I think I'll ring the garage so as it sounds like it needs some form of attention.

It's a shame you have to go 50 miles to get it looked at, but since the car is under warranty, you're better off doing that, as I would think that the only alternative is to remove the bumper, which isn't difficult, but isn't fun either.

Make sure the dealer doesn't fob you off with "we checked and there are no error codes", Honda dealers are better then most other dealers but often, in my experience in the past with something like this, they prefer to do as little as possible.

Thank you for the advice. They seem pretty good so far in my dealings with them and they have replied to my mail straight away. I don't need to rely on a fault code as the fault is evident every time you put the car in first.

^ LOL but it might clear on the way, and anyway dealer technicians just love to plug in their diagnostic system to look for damned codes, and if they can't find any codes, then they often conclude that there isn't a problem without doing anything else

Could the car have been hit/bumped into while parked up? One of the main issues I have with parking sensors is the damage and expense that can be caused by someone else!! Especially if they do a runner as discussed in Impne's thread.
