Hi all,

The n/s front wheel bearing needs replacing on my 04 diesel tourer. I've spent some time searching the forums but can't find any advice on how to do it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Also it appears that you can replace just the bearing rather than the whole hub ***embly. Will the old bearing need pressing out and the new one pressing in, and is that a realistic DIY, or is it better to bite the bullet and go for the whole hub ***embly replacement?

Thanks

Richard

The front hub is bearing replacement. The rear you need the full hub so its not to bad.Have a look at the link below.

Im not sure on the 7th gen but i broke the threaded bolt on my car and the bearing had to be split to get to it.
My freind tired to pull the bearing with a puller but did not work.So he took the hole hub off and got the bearing out with a vice.

I think I remember a guy on youtube (Eric the car guy) replacing a bearing on an older Civic, the setup won't be the same obviously but it is similar to the Accord.

press out and press in, awkward job, wouldnt really recommend it as a diy job if i am honest.

Thanks. I kinda figured it wouldn't be straightforward like doing the bearings on a frogeye sprite. Just drift the old ones out and the new ones in. Ho hum!

Thanks Brett. I think I'll get the knuckle off, buy a bearing and take it to a garage/machine shop to get the bearings swopped. All I need is some free time before the bearing breaks up. B)
