Hi guys
New to the forum here, I am a regular on the mx5 forum and have found it a great source of knowledge and now feel like I need to tap into this vault.

Basically I have noticed a fuel leak from my car. It seems to leak from a hose underneath the car in line with the front wheels and near the middle.

Is this the charcoal canister vent?
Why would fuel come out of here?

I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

I suppose it was just a presumption as I am not leaking any other fluids. I don't have a great sense of smell but it seemed to flash off fast.
This happens everytime I shut the car off.

Just to clarify though I definitely do have a fuel leak as it was an advisory on the last mot.

if your car has aircon and you're using the aircon, then the liquid is water from the evaporator, there's a drain-hose right where you're describing

"fuel leak" on an MOT advisory would be very strange indeed, I presume it's diesel and not petrol, probably means evidence of diesel near the fuel pump or the fuel rail.

I don't have air con as far as I know but that would certainly make sense as it goes I to the cabin seemingly.
It is a petrol and it was apparently only an advisory as it wasn't leaking at the time. I suppose I will need to get under and investigate.
I thought petrol would evaporate pretty fast though so wouldn't leave a trace.
Thanks

might as well have a few more details

2.0 or 2.4 ?

saloon or tourer ?

year car was registered ?

level of trim ?

It's the aircon drain hose - don't worry about it. The fuel filter is in the petrol tank under the back seat.
