Hi,

For the past few weeks i've had the abs light come on at start up and then go off again after a second or two. After having a local garage perform a diagnostic for me, the fault turned out to be code G1-1 power supply voltage low. They reset the fault in the memory, however i'm still having the issue of the warning coming on a start up and then going off again. Can anyone shed any light on this error for me? it's worth noting that i already had the abs pump replaced a year ago, however i'd just like a second oppinion before i take it back to the garage. Does anyone think that a low battery could possibly cause this?

Thanks in advance,

Sean

If its intermittent its most likely a abs speed sensor, usually passenger rear. But that code I'm not aware of so don't know what its indicating to, though it may well be a battery problem. I would first ascertain what the fault code is.

Thanks for the advice, i have to admit i havent been able to find that code anywhere online either hence my post on here. Theoretically speaking, if it were the sensor, would the light stay on until the car was moving? At the moment the light on my car is going off even when the car is stationary.

If you search you'll see its fairly common. The sensor seems to either get scale forming onit or small amounts of grease from the hub smears it which eventually kills it.
It'll eventually stay permanantely lit, the vehicle when started tests the braking/vsa so if its found faulty it illuminates the warning.
