Hi. I have an Accord CTDI and had the clutch and flywheel replaced by Honda 5 weeks ago with 210,000 on the clock. I've done 4,000 miles since then (I'm a taxi driver) but now when the car has started it wont let me select any gear, It goes into gear fine when the car is not running so I've ruled out the selector.

I had to start the car in gear with the clutch pressed, it would surge forward a little bit and then it selects ok and drove fine after that, but now it really doesn't want to go into gear at all.

I've got it booked in with Honda on monday morning but was wondering if anyone has had this problem or knows what might be wrong?

I've had the car for 3 years and that's the first time the clutch has been replaced, I'm not heavy on it and don't ride it and to be honest that's the first thing that has ever really gone wrong so I can't complain but very much hoping it's something to do with the clutch and is covered under the warranty.

Thanks

Master/Slave clutch cylinder? Is the clutch being engaged fully, or is it dragging?

Check the clutch fluid see if it's still full? Does the clutch operation "feel" normal?

This tells me the clutch is not engaging fully, there's still drive present into the gearbox and preventing you from selecting the gear.

I agree with Jayok... the clutch is failing to disengage the drive to the gearbox, hence why you are struggling to select a gear from stationary. I would guess that it's a clutch cylinder/hydraulic system issue, rather than the new clutch ***embly. Either way, it's a problem for the garage to sort out, as they somehow failed to put your car back together properly. Good luck on Monday!

As the guys said and do keep up updated what Honda say.
