Gearbox Query

Currently have the usual problem with the reverse gear on a 1999 Type-R so looking at available options.

As I am against time, I think stripping the gearbox and replacing the synchro might be a bit time consuming for me, so the other option is to go for a "Facelift" gearbox, as from what I understand, they dont have the issue with Synchro.

Looking on fleabay there is an abundance of Accord gearboxes. However, I am not sure what is going to fit.

There seems to be a great deal of 2002 - 2008 Gen 7 boxes, such as:

Any advice would be most appreciated, I just need to get up and running as quick as possible.

You're going to need a gearbox from the Type R mate. You're right that the facelift cars had this problem rectified. So try to get one from after 2001.

There are usually a few around, but would be easier to get someone else to repair the one you've got rather than having to source one, get it shipped etc.

Just found this site. I haven't had any dealings with them, but might be worth a call. They seem to have a lot of stock.

Remember, ideally you want a post facelift box.
