Ola. My 57 plate diesel exec tourer has a stage 2 map, and as expected has major clutch issues. They are only noticeable if you give it a bit of stick. I am loathed to pay a min of 800 notes to get it fixed on a car that has done 122k and is prob worth £4.5k max.
Do I.........
Get rid and get something else or take it on the chin and get a cg paddle clutch?

How much do you like the car? Stage 2 is a tough cookie...and clutch failure can't be blamed on the car if you have it....so £800 is not so bad for upwards of 120K of OEM map running.

I speak form the experience of having Stage 2, and not liking the way I perceived the transmission to be crumbling under the strain.

However, as with all clutch/remap threads.... if you use it, you USE it.

It is a bit like a heroine user saying "I am loathe to get an addiction, but I am going to carry on having the fun anyway".

To be fair i think that even without the remap, at 122K miles, you'd soon be looking at a new clutch anyway. As Dan has said, if you like the car, then get it done, and enjoy it for longer.
