I've been keeping a keen eye on tyre prices and these have gone done.

I have ordered 2 in 225 45 R17 91W for £160 fitted and balanced.

Getting them fitted on Wednesday so I'm hoping road noise will be much better

I bought these as well, and the road noise is less then with the dunlops i had before.
Even a slightly better economy ;)

Sounds promising, did you have them on the front or rear?

They couldn't fit me in till Wednesday but I'm looking forward to getting them now

I got them all round.

I went from the 205 16" wheels to the big 225 17" wheels and i didn't notice any economy differences at all :)

You should get the one with Performance, which is even better than the ordinary Efficient Grip

After reading on then tyres they have good reviews. Let me know how you get on?

They are the performance ones!

I will update later this week.

Chris would you please share the link? I couldn't find them on F1autocenters.
I was thinking of going for Neuton NT5000 which is what I got last time but I'm willing to cough up a bit more to get even better tyres, hopefully these would be mean less road noise.

Results for my tyres aren't bringing up Goodyear Excellence. :-(
I've got 2007 CTDI Sport GT and my current tyres are 225/45 ZR 17 94W XL

Is yours a tourer? my saloon only needs 91W but I beleive the tourer need 94W which are more expensive

I just searched for tyres based on my car registration number on blackcircles and its recommended 225/45R17 W 91. So does that mean I've got the wrong tyres fitted right now?

It was my understanding that 91W was for saloon and 94W for the tourer. You don't have the wrong tyre fitted but it has a higher load rating than it needs to.

No the efficient grip aren't performance tires as they are build for a good fuel economy. They're slight less sticky then performance tires

I'm not saying they are for performance but the tyre is called

Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance

Sorry for the bold, it was copied from the website

Are they any good? Just checked and they are £57 fitted each for the 15's I've just changed to.

I'm using them and absolute brilliant in wet and very quiet.

And Chris is right, the full name of these tyres is:
Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance tyres

Thanks guys, I'm going to order these. The only gripe is all their fitting centres are somewhat far from where I am!

I really love them. Even took my wife's toyota yaris for two of these in the front.

If you buy these with small wheels they are called efficient grip compact ;)

Yes, I've got an ATS garage. I looked at their website earlier and they're selling it quite expensive compared to f1autocentres (diference of £27/tyre).
How would I get them to match the price?

Yeah I saw that link earlier but it doesn't give much away. I'll call the local ATS place and would see what they need from me.

Well I had my first drive in today and the they tyres certainly are quieter, I'm now toying with the idea of swapping the fronts but I can't really justify another £160 at the moment.

No worries, you got me all excited that I might be able to use the price promise that F1 do
