Grounding issue on cigarette lighter socket

hi i recently connected a MP3 player thru cigarette lighter socket , MP3 player is then connected to the car stereo to get the sound.

However i noticed theres a buzzing noise which i am pretty sure its something to do with the cigarette lighter socket.

Is that to do with grounding issue? how should i go abt that?

If you have a 'grounding' problem with the cigarette lighter socket, then there's no way that the actual cigarette lighter will work (it takes a lot of current, which bad wiring wouldn't be able to conduct)... so there's a quick and easy test.

Sounds more like a bad connection between the MP3 player and the car stereo to me.
