Honda accord tourer
Hi guys
Just bought my tourer last month and tried to connect my phone to the hands free,, when I press the button on the steering column it speaks in German,, tried everything in the manual but still no luck..any owners out there know a quick fix avoiding going to a main dealer.
 
When I bought my Accord it seemed to be speaking in Spanish. I'm pretty sure you just say English or something and it starts talking in English. It occasionally tries to go into German when I say certain names. It took a few attempts to get mine into English, I don't think it like my Welsh accent.
 
Am Scottish so I've got no chance of getting the thing to understand me lol
 
I'm sure there is a command in the owners manual to change the language.
I had this on my 7th gen and had to speak French to change it back to English
 
She does understand E BAH GUM either, keeps saying "pardon," given up with it. If you need a phone whilst driving you've already had your accident, and some passerby will call the Bill for you. LOL
 
Can be difficult to make calls with it. I only really use it to answer the damn PPI compensation calls I seem to get all the time, although I've never had PPI!!!

Try the reset command in the handbook. Wipes any old phones, numbers and resets the config.
 
Just been having a shouting match with her again, if she answers in gibberish just hit the button and say "english" she will have a think and then go back to english, but she still has trouble with understanding us got to be a dialect thing unless you work for the BBC no dice, best way is to use the nav system "library"
 
I am not getting a chance.as soon as I hit the hands free button she starts speaking German,, I shout English,, English but nothing,, need to find someone who speaks German, getting really fed up with it now.

let her finish her spiel in german then an english lady will speak to you and ask if you want to change the language you then say yes please english and voila we are now in england. It not vairy difficult and ve haf ways ov making her talk. LOL
 
Tried again today,, nope nothing,, still speaks German when The HFT button is pressed,, will not take any commands that the hand books tells me to say,,getting really p@@ed off big time
 
You need to command in German to change the language.
Download an app on your phone for translating.
Go by the hand book and say the words you need and play back to the hands free
 
Thanks I'll give that a shot tomorrow, I'll post results when successful lol which could b a while.
 
Hi!

I have read in Latvian manual that you can just start by saying the language name in the original language. It means - to switch to German you would press the button and say "Deutsch", and to switch to English you would say "English".
Nothing must be said before that - just press the button and say "English".

Hope it works for you.
 
Hi. I just got honda tourer 2009 and trying to connect my phone. After I press HFT talk button and say 'phone set up' it gives me some options such as status, delete, list etc but there is no "pair" so I can't pair my phone. Any ideas? Is that because the previous keeper was using it and I have to clear HFT settings?
