With all this cold weather we have been having i've noticed my Honda has been taking longer to start than usual and when it does start I get lots of blue smoke out the back for a few minutes - what could it be?

In your case probably glow plugs first thing to look at. Try turning the ignition on and off couple of times before starting (cycle the glow plugs). excess smoke is likely unburnt diesel but keep an eye on oil as well. Blue smoke tends to be burning oil.

Just a quick update - Battery checked and its fine (ordered new one from holdcroft anyway) so its the glowplugs - fine when given two or more cycles - Thanks
