Hi folks,

I'm just wondering if the boot on the 6th gen hatchback is different in width to the boot on a saloon? I quite fancy a spoiler, but all the aftermarket ones seem to be listed as for the saloon and not the hatch :( could a saloon spoiler be fitted to a hatchback?

Cheers,
Josh

They are different, take a look at the following post:

Awesome, hopefully should open up my options a bit. I've got a Wings West 'Thruster' spoiler at home - it's meant for the Prelude but I'm kind of tempted to measure it up on the Accord :p

It is possible to get a spoiler for the hatchback, just find a 1.8 Sport in a scrap yard. I'm pretty sure that trim level all came with spoilers

how about the spoiler from a civic coupe?

I could do, love the sharp angles on the oem sport spoiler. I kind of want something unusual though as it's going to be a bit of an unusual 6th Gen once its done - I've got a Wings West spoiler meant for my Prelude, I'm going to measure it up against the Accord at the weekend, see if it fits and also if it looks ok. Not sure how it'd look on the car, it's the one below

If it looks bleh then at least now I know I can buy any aftermarket spoiler meant for a 6th gen, saloon or hatch :)

to my untrained eye it looks like the rear of the leg curves in too much maybe?

I think the camera angle was deceptive, the boot of the Prelude is slightly curved but not massively, and this spoiler is designed to follow the lines

It's just a matter of how much difference there is I think

Only one way to find out I guess

Really hope it fits as it looks like a good spoiler, but i have my reservations about it.

Yeah, the Prelude has a deceptively wide *** so it may well be that the spoiler is too wide for the Accord. Still, the spoiler was only £20 and I can always whack it on the Prelude as per original plans  I have a Valuesport spoiler in the pipeline for it though so the Wings West is going spare. Would be a nice unique touch to the Accord if it does fit :)

Btw, after seeing this photo and seeing how stumpy the hatchback boot is, I'm having reservations about the length of it fitting

b u m is on the swear filter......

^^^hahaha, i know, some of them are just silly. But then some people are easily offended

Anywho, my origianl point was going to be the the ATR spoiler fits on the hatch, so don't see why the lude one won't.

what about a 7th gen spoiler off the Type-S?...they are inbetween mine and the R one height wise http://www.spoilershop.com.au/images/acc/ssfs/honda%20accord%20euro%20rear%20wing.jpg

I was even more shocked as I'd already self moderated myself  oh well

Cool, maybe it's just the angle that makes my Accord look like a bootless wonder  roll on the weekend, I've got a few aesthetic plans for the Accord that I need to measure up and think through :)

It does look good, but then what would I do with the spare Wings West or Valuesport spoiler?
