Hiya ,

The headlamp washers have packed up on my V6 coupe.

I can hear what I think is the relay clicking when I press the button but the pump doesn't come on.

Dead pump? Tricky to replace?

Any advice appreciated!
Thanks

I've no idea on the 6th Gen, but I've heard that on the 7th the headlamps don't wash if the bottle is running low to conserve fluid.
Topping it up couldn't hurt before you get the spanners out?

Off topic but got any pictures? I had a V6 coupe a couple of years ago, spent way too much money on it (Manual conversion, exhaust, intake etc.) and loved it dearly until a drunk lorry driver crushed me against a barrier on the motorway. :(

Would love to have another!

Sorry for another off topic post, but BlueVTEC which gearbox can you use to convert the V6 to a manual?? I'd love a V6 motor in one of my cars but I don't fancy the auto box. I haven't really looked into the J series but I didn't know there was a compatible manual box

Hiya Josh, sorry for the delay bud. The swap was done using pretty much all Acura CL-S parts from the US. From the US, I had a 6-speed transmission, Clutch Kit & Flywheel and Acura CL-S shifter & linkages shipped over. After that, I was able to get most parts from the UK (Where I lived at the time) so from then on I had to have custom mounts made, and was able to use the pedal box (including clutch pedal and hydraulics including slave/master cylinder) from a F20B6 6G I found in a breakers yard. I also used part of a 6G loom and used independent management as an easier way of essentially cutting out the automatic loom (If you fail to use the module, you lose VTEC, reverse lights, CEL is constant, no clocks etc etc.) and allowing me the option to set an individual map as I was planning to supercharge the V6 not long after doing the swap. Finally, I had to get hold of a starter motor from the K24 Accord 7G as the auto one was very different. Obviously there were lots of other little bits and bobs required (My transmission came from the US fine but had no reverse switch, release bearing or clutch fork. Major PITA to find!) but that's pretty much the jist of it. All other things like hubs, shafts etc were actually a direct fit into the 6-speed manual.

It was quite costly with parts and shipping alone costing over £2k, and that was with saving shipping cost by having my parts shipped over with a friends recent car purchase he was having shipped over from Colorado. All in all including a few one off pieces needing to be made, it cost knocking on £3.5k with about 3-4 months being taken for it. Granted, I could of probably done it cheaper if I didn't go for independent management and time if all the parts arrived correctly, but hey ho that's life! After the swap though...Wow what a car! It was immense fun and so FAST. The ratios were nice and tight and couple that with the immense torque and decent power (RR'ed at 241hp @ crank) made it much faster than an ATR in a straight line as it was so responsive seeing as there was no where near as much "transmission loss" with the manual compared to the auto. In the bends it was a little nose heavy, but the CL-S transmission has an LSD and my V6 had a few handling upgrades, so it wasn't too bad actually. Unfortunately, I only had the car on the road for about 10 months until it was wrecked, which is a shame as it was probably the only manual swapped V6 in the UK and I had some major plans for it.

I've moved on now and my H22'd 6G is a much better car all round really, but I can't help but miss the beautiful V6 warble as I wafted around in heated seat luxury. D
