hi guys

people keep flashing me at night . but thare is no switch to lower the headlight aim ???

the handbook shows me where it should be but thares just a blanking plate thare ? ( next to right knee nxt to to the vsa switch ??)

anyone know how to lower the headlight aim ??

cheers

My aim switch is where your saying it should be so with you not having one is it possible that yours are self leveling??

thats what im thinking ... but why do they seem so high that everyone is flashing me thinking i have my high beam on ?? is thare a way of lowering them ???

When was the last MOT? It could just be that the alignment is out, it can be done your self but a garage will do it with more precision. there is a hole in the top of the lense for adjustment.

Are you sure you are not on main beam? there is a blue indicator on the dash if you are. it's green at all other times. Actuated by pulling/pushing the indicator stalk. I'll get my coat!!

Sounds like your headlight alignment is off and you're blinding oncoming drivers.

As said you can adjust this yourself, but you might as well take it to your local mechanic to get the job done properly so you know it's right and for the comfort of other road users, it should only be a 5 minute job.

Are your lights OE HID.

I had the same problem. http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/2747-oe-hid-headlight-aim/page__p__33796__hl__squirrel__fromsearch__1#entry33796

Never got to the bottom of it.

Can't adjust it, dealer says it is right. They checked it on the MOT tester

MOT due next month so interesting to see if they say otherwise if they think they can charge to rectify.

hey guys
just an update

got the mrs to take the honda into a local honda specialist thats just opened up . she said he was very helpful and the problem was a common fault and that it was the auto levelling sensor that is faulty and not adjusting the headlights correctly,

anyone know ware this sensor is located and how much they are ?? many thanks

hey guys
think ive found the sensor

picture is of the underneath of my car, next to the rear passenger side wheel.
its a picture of the auto - headlight adjuster sensor. mine i think has gone ******ed.

all i can tell you is it has a little stabiliser bar coming off the back of the unit down to the main stabiliser bar on the rear wheel . thats what corrects the headlight aim .

can anyone confirm this ? or got one lying around !!! haha

I can't help you but it may be worth reposting this as a new topic to gain fresh attenion.

***uming the dealership have done diagnostics and confirmed that it is the auto levelling sensor, did they mention which one, I believe there is one at the front (as found) and one at the rear.

Also worth checking that fuse no 20 (under the dash fuse box) hasn't blown.

You could check also that the control arm moves freely, otherwise it might be better to take it back to Honda for them to confirm which sensor it is and just rule out anything else like the control unit.

Also I suspect that there is a procedure that is required to re-teach the auto levelling system when any parts are replaced, i.e re-calibrating, I think you need the HDS for this, but maybe wrong.

good luck
