hi guys
ive had enough of the standard radio, so want to put my alpine ipod unit in
two steps:
1. find the correct ISO adapter for the accord gen7
2. find a wellfitting replacement facia

2 seems pretty straightforward, ive found this one:
http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/autoleads-fp1504-honda-accord-sport-executive-facia-panel-adaptor-p-2470.html

1. is ****** difficult. i can find iso adapters for the gen6 and gen8, but not for the 7 :(

does anyone know for certain which adapter to buy? i ***ume autoleads make one - maybe the newshape civic shares the same connector? (ie the one that got the 2.2 diesel)

help will be greatly appreciated :)

I am afraid I can't help with your question but found this earlier and can't help thinking its a cracking bit of kit and very OEM looking, could be worth a punt and if you sold your Alpine unit and stock Honda one it might not work out that dear -

Accord Headunit

hmm that looks nice, but i get the impression its one of those shoddy chinese units cobbled together. would defintely need to test out out before potentially wasting cash on it

ive been looking at utting my double din in the accord 7th gen but i would lose the dual climate is there a way round this i carnt think of one.

Keep the original stereo in and fit it in the cubby below.

aahhhh now i did'nt think of that one is that feesable have others done this. Do i need to buy any surrounds or alike.

you got two options that I have looked at for this

one is to change the head unit to this

this tries to make things neat, but its expensive.

second option is this

this is cheaper and I think this is the better compromise because it keeps all the heater features working as you intended them too.

I guess its down to what your budget is and what the look is going to be. I have for the time being kept things as they are but many guys on here have installed a Xcarlink so they can play there IPODS and MP3s through the head unit as the speakers are not too bad on the 7th gen. The 6th gen system was rubbish and I swapped it all for a after market Head unit and sub in the boot.

as regards the adapter I am also finding it hard to find, maybe someone might have some adivse about which one to get. hope this helps ;)

Guys I have done a double din install on my accord with a flip DVD player based in the cubbyhole hole.I got an ISO lead from halfords and just plugged it in, this does indeed let the aftermarket system /head unit work, although you will lose the OEM system display, the way around this is to piggy back another ISO connector and plug this ISO lead into the OEM stereo. Check out my build called double din install by ukaccord.
