Accord 2.2 icdti,
Well finally I get a leak, I know what's involved in replacing this and it's something I cannot attempt.
Does anyone know the cost to replace this at honda or an independent.
Anyone tried stop leak products.
I'm not worried about the heat it's been blocked for 5 years anyway.
Thanks

Honda want 1600 plus for me to supply a matrix as they no longer supply them.
I appreciate the labour costs on this and perhaps an independent would come in cheaper.

I would definitely try K-Seal or an equal equivalent first, although if it's blocked it may not circulate enough to seal it.

Thanks, that's what I thought, I think it is blocked as I've only had warm air from passenger side.
However I'm losing a fair bit of fluid every day.
I'll try anything at this point ha, cheers

Best to flush the whole system before anything since there may be a second hole about to open after the first has been closed.

I found a lot of crud in the base of the radiator which could only be cleared by taking out of the car and flushing upside down multiple times with a high pressure hose

Thanks channel, I think a good flush first like you say, could do with a new radiator as well I think. Then I'll run some super duper sealant through see if it helps.
As I've been diluting the coolant past few days the strange thing is I'm getting more heat in the cabin, I'm guessing the diluted coolant is getting around the matrix better. My drivers side is a lot cooler than passenger still, I wonder if that is more of a problem with the controls or flaps.
Anyway it's another job to add to the list.
Many thanks.

It is unlikely to be flaps ( I did a lot of testing on them, switching from dashboard to foot/front passenger combined and individual settings a year or so back).

The crud will be slowly passing through to the newer coolant, the driver's side is always the last.

One thing I did not do - for long - was to over pressurise the system since I know all the iron piping in/out of the engine is on last legs, but this might shift things faster. Short run only though and have a cloth handy when the needle goes over half way to open the radiator cap.
