Help AC unit removal

Well today I thought I would get the AC control unit out and replace the bulb.

So how does it come out?

Tried prising it out with screwdriver. No

Tried prising dash panel surround out - seemed to move. Woops corner came out and nearly brokeoff

Then discovered two screws at top of binnicle. removed them, tried again. No

Before I do anymore damage can somebody help ?

I think the whole dash panel surround has to come out - then you can get at some screws holding unit in ??

You have to take the sorround off, 3 screws and one 4th hidden.

Well it really is an excellent guide. But dear me what a job just to replace a bulb.

The crack in the surround happened to me.

Not sure i want to bother, thought it might be a 5 min job! It seems that a bulb replacement in the AC unit is a common problem.

Yep I know, such a pain, the bulb on the clock of my climate unit has gone, I tried to take the 4th screw off but the cruise switch doesnt come out enough, gave up in the end as I didnt want to break anything, can live without the clock bulb but will give it another shot at some point.
