Hi I need someone's urgent help. I have followed the civinfo instructions (http://www.civinfo.c..._in_2007_Accord) for installing a xcarlink (usb/sd card model) and have tried testing it out but I am unable to get past the sat nav start up screen (none of the buttons work) if I have the xcarlink installed. If I disconnect the xcarlink the satnav/radio/cd work fine. I was thinking it might be that I need a y cable can anyone confirm? If a y cable isn't needed could it be just a dodgy xcarlink unit? I am not sure if this matters but the cd unit I have has a built in cd changer.

Any help would be appreciated.

i installed my unit on the premium sound system with sat nav and my first unit didnt work but the everything else on the sat nav etc worked fine i just got in contact with xcarlink who happily replaced it free of charge, so when i got there i took apart the whole system then picked up the new part and tryed it straight away and the new one worked fine.

Hi

Where are you plugging the xcarlink into? It should be plugging into the back of the main screen unit within the aux port?

Hi

I am plugging it into the back of the sat nav unit (into the small white plug) and it fits in perfectly. The link I sent is this one http://www.civinfo.com/wiki/index.php?***le=Install_Xcarlink_in_2007_Accord which is on the civinfo forum.

Well if your plugging it in the right plug then it sounds like you may have a faulty XCarlink unit. Did you purchase it directly from Xcarlink themselves?

Hi Yeah I purchased it from xcarlink.co.uk. I have arranged a return so just going to have to wait for a new unit :(. I thought it might be something silly I was doing so I thought I would ask.

Thanks for your help Shabz :)

No worries fella. Keep us updated

The xcarlink is working now...it was just a dodgy cable in the end which connected to the aux link at the back of the nav unit.

I have another slight problem though.....while attempting to install the unit I have scatched the black plastic interior in a few places. Can anyone recommend a good polish for the black plastic interior? Thanks
