Hi,
My clutch on my Honda Accord 2.2 i-DTEC EX Tourer 5dr (2008) needs replacing and I have been quoted around £1000 to fix it.
The car has around 105,000 miles and the air conditioning no longer works but the alternator and the break pads have recently been replaced and apart from the clutch & air con the car seems in good condition.
The car, due to the size of it is great (when it is working) as we use it for camping most weekends.
I would like to get it fixed but my worry is that something else will go wrong in a few months time.
What would anyone suggest I do? Are there any know faults that are common for the Honda Accord of this age. Should I get it repaired or purchase a new vehicle.
Thanks in advance

Potentially a bit steep for a new clutch. My local honda specialist charged me £260 to fit a new clutch and flywheel (supplied my own parts) Mine is a k24 mind you.

I would get a few quotes and look at supplying your own clutch. You can select your own then and people generally reccomend exedy clutches which are very well priced too!

Ive noticed in recent years that parts from major suppliers such as euro etc are much more expensive compared to ebay.

the diesels have a dual mass flywheel so that's why its so much more, also the labour time is higher, £1000 aint bad tbh.

Definitely look at sourcing own parts. If you are wanting to keep the car I think it would be worth doing.

just be aware that if you supply you own parts you get no warranty and if they are wrong you may be liable to pay for the time the car is on the ramp while correct parts are acquired.
