I thought I'd covered everything in my online research to change my car's rear discs, calipers, pads and dust covers.....

Only what I watched on YouTube for disconnecting the handbrake cable from the caliper doesn't work/apply for my car (mine's a 2006 Gen 7 2.4 auto).

In both the current fitted caliper and the replacement caliper I purchased, there is a hole on the caliper arm for the handbrake cable to pass through - yet it is held there solid (even though I've removed the clip that was there).

I don't know how to remove it any further - any ideas please?

(note - I'm a previous member here - only I had to open a new account as I can't get at my old email address anymore)

Did you get this sorted? I can check the manual in about 8 hours. My guess is that the procedure would be the same for the same generation Civic and any others that don't have the drum/disk setup.

This is from the ESM. It had 2 models rear brakes, KQ and non KQ. I do not know which one you have so both included.

I can't attach the file to this post(too large it says) so I'll have to put it online somewhere.. The PDF's merged a bit out of sequence but each page is its own procedure anyway.
